Our Story
I began my journey as a toothpaste creator over 12 years ago in the North Texas area. I am a mother to 4 amazing children, a grandmother of 6, and a registered nurse.
When my daughter Ellise became ill at the age of five, not a single Doctor knew what she had, nor did they have a diagnosis for her condition(s). We made countless trips to the ER, new medications were added, she became weak and had a limited childhood that was not progressing at all. The specialists finally discovered what she had after years of blood work and treatments. Ellise had an autoimmune disorder.
Her condition worsened over time and her disorder affected every aspect of life. Then the Dr's found a cyst in her sinuses, it was mold/fungal-related. This was the culprit that stole her immune system and attacked her health! She couldn’t even eat due to the thrush in her mouth caused by low immunity. Ellise was wasting away in front of my eyes. I did the only thing I knew as a mother, and that was to pray and search for a solution!
This is where Tru Eden Toothpaste was birthed! When I was a Bone Marrow Transplant nurse, we would give our patients a little 'cocktail' for the thrush they had in their mouths. I tried to replicate something like this in a toothpaste form. It restored everything in her mouth that was damaged due to low immunity!

Our Ingredients
Organic Spearmint
Mentha Spicata is known for its antioxidant benefits. One of its benefits is to reduce inflammation in the oral cavity. It works wonders in healing mouth sores and oral infections. Without a doubt, its sweet taste leaves a fresh breath.
Organic Peppermint
Mentha Piperita is the strongest mint. Not only does peppermint eliminate halitosis (bad breath), but it also reduces inflammation. It kills germs and diminishes toothache. It is an overall feel-good plant that has been used medicinally for over 1000 B.C.
Organic Coconut Oil
Helps tear down plaque and prevents tartar build-up and tooth decay. It makes sensitive teeth and gums feel happy. Not only does it kill bacteria and eliminate oral infections, but it whitens teeth also.
Organic Oil of Oregano
Our secret avenger. Oregano originated in the Mediterranean and has been used for medicinal purposes for thousands of years. It is an antifungal, antiviral, and antibacterial agent. It stops disease, acidity, and infections in their track and kills them. We call this one, our liquid gold ingredient.
Sodium Bicarbonate (aluminum-free)
A natural salt from Mother Nature. Think about it, why did grandma put a box of baking soda in the refrigerator? It was to stop any odor and/or mold from growing. For oral care, it has been known to cure gingivitis, canker sores, tooth decay, etc.
Glycerin
USP Kosher. Used to retain moisture. However, don't let its subtle participation fool you- it is a plant-based property that eliminates bacteria and, in turn, helps the teeth from developing any decay.
Xanthan Gum
A plant-based stabilizer that is used as a thickener in the food industry. This works as a gel or glue for the toothpaste and unites all of the ingredients nicely. It also helps moisturize the oral cavity.
Hydrogen Peroxide
Antiseptic and whitening properties. Can also be used to rinse your mouth and get rid of painful canker sores and other oral irritations. This ingredient is a very refreshing participant in Tru Eden's toothpaste.
